THE SHORT ANSWER

RTX A6000 and RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell are different GPU generations. NVIDIA lists 48 GB of GDDR6 for RTX A6000 and 96 GB of GDDR7 for RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell. GPUIndexes publishes separate rental series, so their quotes are never pooled simply because both names contain “6000.”

The shared number does not identify the same GPU

The RTX A6000 uses NVIDIA’s Ampere architecture. RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell is a later family. RTX 6000 Ada is another separate model, and its name can add to the confusion when a provider abbreviates an offer. Use the complete GPU model name before comparing prices.

A partition is not the full 96 GB GPU

NVIDIA documents MIG partitioning for RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell Server Edition. A quote for a partition describes a different allocation from the full GPU. GPUIndexes excludes the separately cataloged 24 GB and 48 GB partition models from its full 96 GB series.

The source catalog does not establish every board-edition, power-limit or host-configuration difference. Our series name should not be read as proof that all contributing servers are otherwise identical. Inspect the provider’s edition and instance details for your workload.

Use one pricing lane for the comparison

Both GPUIndexes series use single-GPU, on-demand USD offers with recent confirmed stock observations. We take one lowest eligible quote per provider and then a median across providers. This gives each series the same calculation rule.

The provider sets can still differ. A lower reference for one model does not establish a lower total cost per job. Check the accompanying provider count and quote spread, and account for any CPU, storage, transfer and billing-term differences.

Measure what your workload needs

The published memory capacities differ by a factor of two, but that does not imply that the newer card completes every workload twice as fast. Model precision, batch size, memory use, kernels and software versions all influence a real result.

Start with whether the workload fits the available memory, then measure throughput and total instance cost on representative work. The reference pages supply observed pricing data; they do not claim an independently measured performance ratio between these GPUs.
